HOLLOWAY & TORRES ARE THE 2018 SRC FACILITY CHAMPS

Mother Nature could not have been kinder to the 24 two-player professional teams teeing it up in the 2018 RMSPGA Snake River Chapter Facility Championship.  PGA Head Professional, Tad Holloway, with his associate Director of Golf partner Danny Torres, both from TimberStone Golf Course in Caldwell, Idaho, shot rounds of 68 and 64 for a two-round total of 12-under-par, 132, to outlast the host PGA Professional Ryan Nielson and his associate professional Sam Jacobson by 3 shots.

VOICE CADDIE TO SUPPORT SNAKE RIVER CHAPTER FACILITY CHAMPIONSHIP

Voice Caddie, makers of GPS range finders has been added as a partner of the Rocky Mountain Section and specifically, the Snake River Chapter.  Voice Caddie will be a supporting sponsor of the 2018 Snake River Chapter Facility Championship. The 2018 Facility Championship will be played April 9th and 10th at Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho.

 

TAYLORMADE CONTINUES SPONSORSHIP OF PRO-PRO SHOOTOUT

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA, along with TaylorMade Golf, are excited to announce the continuation of a sponsorship agreement that names them as exclusive title sponsor of the annual Rocky Mountain PGA Pro-Pro Shootout through the 2018 event. The sponsorship continues the successful relationship that has been developed between the company, the Section and its members.

 

ADIDAS GOLF CONTINUES SUPPORT

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA is pleased to announce that adidas Golf is continuing its support of the Rocky Mountain PGA and its member professionals. As part of the sponsor agreement, adidas has been named a supporting sponsor of the Idaho Open, and the “exclusive apparel provider to the Rocky Mountain PGA staff.”  “The Section is pleased to be able to move forward with adidas Golf,” states Vaughn Jenkins, executive director. “adidas Golf has partnered for 15 years with the Rocky Mountain Section and our members thank sales representative Jeff Smith and regional sales manager David Delong for continuing this partnership through 2018.”

 

BRIDGESTONE GOLF CONTINUES SUPPORT OF RMSPGA

Bridgestone Golf will continue its support of the Section in 2018.  As part of the sponsorship, Bridgestone Golf will become a supporting sponsor of the Yellowstone Chapter PGA Pro-Pro and also the Snake River Chapter PGA Facility Championship. This marks 11 years of support from Bridgestone Golf for the members and associates of the Rocky Mountain Section PGA.

 

MIZUNO TO SUPPORT RMSPGA FALL PRO-PRO

Mizuno is continuing its support of the Rocky Mountain Section PGA Fall Pro-Pro.  This agreement marks Mizuno’s fourth year within the Rocky Mountain Section PGA family of sponsors.  The Section thanks Regional Manager Jeremy Galbreth and Sales Representative Cody Faught for their support of the Rocky Mountain Section PGA and, in particular, for the support of Mizuno regarding the Fall Pro-Pro.  The 2018 RMSPGA Fall Pro-Pro will be held Monday and Tuesday, October 1st and 2nd  at Idaho Falls (Idaho) Country Club.

 

BUSHNELL TO SUPPORT RMSPGA PRO-PRO SHOOTOUT

Bushnell, makers of the range finders found in many golf shops, is a continuing partner of the Rocky Mountain Section.  Bushnell will be a supporting sponsor of the 2018 RMSPGA Pro-Pro Shootout. The 2018 Shootout will be played May 21st and 22nd at Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

PGA of America Introduces Enhanced Career Services

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Jan. 24, 2018) – The PGA of America has announced the repositioning and strengthening of its PGA Career Services Department. To better serve employers, PGA Members and individuals seeking to gain employment within the golf industry, PGA Career Services has increased the size of its professional staff, while adding new resources and tools designed to promote jobs in golf nationwide.

 

RON DUNHAM HONORED AS GOLF PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

The Rocky Mountain Section PGA has named long time PGA Professional Ron Dunham from Wilson, Wyo., its 2017 Golf Professional of the Year.  The PGA Golf Professional of the Year Award is the highest honor paid to a PGA professional.  The honoree is chosen based on his or her outstanding leadership abilities, exceptional performance as a PGA Professional, and distinguished service to the Association and the game of golf.

MARK HOLIDAY IS 2017 PLAYER DEVELOPMENT AWARD RECIPIENT

PGA Professional Mark Holiday of Bozeman, Mont., has been selected by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA as the 2017 recipient of the Player Development Award.  Holiday, a Quarter Century member of The PGA of America has been honored as such to recognize his extraordinary contributions and achievements in the area of Player Development.  This award considers the Professional’s “growth of the game” leadership commitment at Section and National levels and the impact made at his/her own facility.

KATIE SOMERS RECOGNIZED AS ASST. PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Katie Somers, assistant professional at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho, has been named the 2017 Assistant Professional of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Section PGA.  Somers has been employed as an apprentice professional at BanBury the last three years and is hard at work in her efforts to become a PGA Member.
